I have decided to provide you with an insight of your past 20 years of life. This chapter will also help you prepare for the coming years of your life as you're guided by Swami Ram Charran. We hope that this chapter will help you understand your past experiences and why you had to go through any suffering or the receiving of blessings. If you will note that whenever it is a bad Graha (or Cycle), looking back at your life three years prior to that, will indicate some of the karmas that created those sufferings in the bad cycle. In other words, what we are saying is that you can control your future by creating good karmas three years ahead of time, and thereby make your future a better one. Take careful note of the events that take place in a Health cycle and notice how the lessons learned during the Health Cycle will inference the rewards or punishments of the Love cycle. Note also, how the experiences of the Travel Cycle will greatly affect the results in the Family Cycle. This year, you will usually be on your own and may even be lonely sometimes. However, with your independence, you have achievements and become a good advisor or have good consultations. This year will be good for appointments, big projects, meditation, and working alone. Try not to worry too much and don't be bossy; it would be better if you stay by yourself and work on your own. You may accomplish a lot this year by yourself, so do not expect any co-operation; you will be called upon to handle more than your usual regular duties. Indulge a bit and spend some money on yourself, or even buy yourself a gift. Furthermore, don't forget to eat, as you may be so busy that by the afternoon you will need a lot of rest.

CHILDREN - SOCIAL & PREGNANCY GRAHA
You will feel full of energy, you will feel playful, and you may find yourself reading a lot. Enjoy the love of the young ones and pay attention to children and entertainment. There will be numerous social functions, telephone dealings and overall communication. Concerning creativity and studies: you may tend to read or watch television more, and express yourself through letters and writing-possibly publish or print a piece of work. There will be progress in education and you will study more, for either exams or for training. This year will be a good time for bargains and window shopping for there will be many good items on sale. There can be the start of new ideas and news of birth. However, avoid excess drinking; there may be cramps and side pains as the downside effects of the year.
Overall, it will be a successful year, with a birth or abortion, new opportunities, hip pain, and children illness.
CAREER -JOB PROBLEMS - TENSION GRAHA
Concentration is needed in particular for this year; there will be hard work involved, repairs for the home, high tempers, job stress and possible health problems. There will be some dissent within your family and co-workers. Among career problems: there may be disagreements with your bosses, the danger of over-working yourself, and the questioning of your status at work. In fact, no one will notice that you are tired; try heading to bed early whenever possible. Though you may want to and may have low pay, do not change jobs now and try not to complain about your co-workers. Dedicate yourself to your duty. Check your health as much as possible. Expect a stressful year. On the upside, real estate will be good.
TRAVEL - SEXUALITY - CHANGES GRAHA
Aptly named, this year will be a good time for travel, movement, short trips, long distance phone calls, and various social functions. Short trips would be especially good. You will feel energetic; feel free to indulge in gratification, but not in excess. You may do some impulsive shopping, but try to avoid this, gossip, false news, and risky driving. There will be many social functions and new encounters with attractive or poor quality people. In fact, you may also feel sexy, coupled with increasing romance with the opposite sex. Furthermore, a secret affair(s) can occur, but watch out for people who are deceptive. Avoid eating meat products if you can.
There will be a secret love affair, false words, deception, thoughts of marriage, and long distance calls.
FAMILY DISAGREEMENTS - GOVERNMENT GRAHA
Unfortunately there will be marriage conflicts, family disagreements, extra responsibilities and legal matters this year. Try to keep your temper down (as it may cause your blood pressure to rise) and accept all responsibilities. If possible, avoid your family, and don't listen to their words; there will be many frustrations involving them. Though you may have stress with your personal contacts, you will feel powerful and take advantage of all opportunities-dress for success. There may be contact with government associates, news of surgery or accidents. Try to avoid eating meat, drinking, or drugs and watch out for traffic tickets.
Generally, avoid any heated moments; there will be many adjustments. Collect the monies due to you and purchase a new home or fix up your old one.
GOD - RELIGION - DEEP THOUGHTS GRAHA
This will be a year of much introspection and deep contemplation: you will look before your leap. This will be a good time for relaxation, prayers, and meditation; take the time to recite mantras and see an astrologer or priest. You will have many silent thoughts and wonderings about your life; sleepiness may occur with your deep thinking. Avoid negative people, alcohol, drugs, and other harmful addictions. Furthermore, try not to worry too much, especially about love. There will be contact with physics and the Occult, but do not be deceived by false prophets.
Spiritual journeys will take place this year, and while there may be increased involvement in temples, there will be conflict with love.
MONEY- LUXURY - INVESTMENT GRAHA
Though everything may be expensive this year, it will be a good time to invest wisely. It will be profitable to visit extravagant places, as there will be contact with beautiful people and models, and love proposals. Luxury, gains, promotions, sales, the receiving/lending of money, and good dreams will run rampant this year. Your year will be heavily involved with money, investments, self-promotion and material assets. There may be pay raises and new work profits-a very good year for business. Avoid overspending or credit and get-rich-quick schemes. Moreover, if you are eating too many sweets, you will get facial pimples.
This year may be the start or end of a business, but a good time to purchase a new home and spend some money.
HEALTH - PUNISHMENT - REWARD GRAHA
This year is inundated with the end of things and other negative occurrences. There will be ends of associations, business losses, court or police involvement, high tension, possible accidents and ego conflicts. You may be bosses around and have an inexplicable fear of enemies or spirits. Try to avoid confrontations and fights. Keep a low profile as you will have low energy levels. In addition, people will not recognize your position. Disappointing news will come your way often; expect car or equipment breakdown, illness, disasters, rejection, quarrels, bad dreams and delays. Food poisoning and constipation are all possible.
There may be the death of someone close, sickness, haunting, accidents, and court problems all throughout the year. An accident may involve the complete loss of the equipment or vehicle, but no injury to the persons involved.

UNDERSTANDING THE TRUTH OF NUMBER NINE (9)
Identity of the Number Nine (9). Nine (9) is the highest digit in the numbering system. Mathematically, any multiples of nine will be equal to nine when reduced to a single digit. The essence of nine lies in its own mystery in that it indicates that this is the limit of the universe. Once this limit is reached, however, the nine (9) spills over into the zero (0) to become what it was before. Thus, like the electromagnetic waves that end one cycle only to immediately begin a new one, the nine begins again as a zero once it attains the limit of the universe. Note as well that any number when added to nine will give the original number. For example the number 23 when added to 9 will result in the sum of 32. The first number 23 reduced to a single digit is (2 + 3 = 5) and the resultant number 32 is (3 + 2 = 5) as well.
Due to its position as the highest of all digits, nine thinks that it is closest to God. Thus we see 9 and multiples of 9 occurring frequently in the Vedic scriptures. There are 18 (1 + 8 = 9) chapters in the Bhagavad Gita; a normal person takes 21,600 (2 + 1 + 6 = 9) breaths in day; there are 792,000 (7 + 9 + 2 = 18. 1 + 8 = 9) nadis or energy centres in the human body; the Vedic hymns are written in metres of 9. However, like the odometer on a car, when the highest level of nine (9) is reached, it rolls over to zero (0) to begin its cycle all over again. Because of this proximity or closeness to zero (0), the number nine is also farthest from God. Thus nine acts with confusion in its normal state because it does not know if it belongs to God or to Yama (God of Death). If it is well grounded and follows the sattvic path (path of goodness) consistently, nine can achieve the highest level of spirituality. If it follows the tamasic path (path of ignorance and darkness), nine can end up in the deepest levels of Patal (Hell). It is because of this multiplicity of behaviour that confusion reigns in our true understanding of this number. We encourage all teachers of Hinduism not to restrict their teachings to just one aspect of this number or else we will only add to the state of confusion. Rather we must teach about the sattvic aspect as well as the tamasic aspect of the nine and allow the experiences of our readers and listeners to reflect the truth.
The Sankalpa and its Significance on a Number Nine House Location
During a Puja, we divide the universe into smaller and smaller units until we arrive at the specific address at which the Puja is being conducted. In this same way, the earth is divided and sectioned into tiny units which become our house lot numbers. Just as each grain of rice that ends up on your plate at dinner time had your name imprinted upon it from the time it was growing, through the time that it was harvested, hulled, bagged and shipped to finally end up in your neighbourhood store for you to buy, in that same way, each plot of earth attracts a particular individual to its location. This attraction is karmic. Just as a number nine person gets a 'chance' to be born as a number nine, so too do certain plots of earth get a 'chance' to attain the lot number nine. There is a 'Cosmic Will' that governs the allocation and each of us end up at that particular location with that particular lot number because of this Divine Will. Like the number nine individual who is confused about his identity and his relationship to God or to Yamaraj, so too is a number nine location 'confused' about its state of calmness or explosiveness. If the householder follows the satvic path and attains a high degree of spirituality, the location can be very calm and peaceful. Thus number nine locations are good for temples or other places of worship. On the other hand, if the householder follows the rajasic and tamasic paths, the location will constantly erupt with fights and quarrels from the people who live there. The householder will face financial hardships, difficulty with children, problems with health and a general state of unhappiness with life. This outcome is much more common amongst householders in number nine locations because the number nine locations attract a particular person in order to allow them to experience the suffering and losses that they have to face. In other words, this is their payback for the karmic deeds they had committed some time before.
In this age of Kaliyuga, people are more prone to be materialistic and seem to be less devoted to God. Thus in many families, there is a preponderance of rajasic and tamasic behaviours and perhaps only small portions of satvic behaviour. Once alcoholism, butchering of animals, drugs, violence, rudeness, arrogance, boastfulness, become predominant in a number nine location, the family begins to suffer. Job problems, business failures, financial losses, wayward children, sewer problems, house repairs, medical problems, and car accidents are some of the common distress symptoms that will begin to surface. All of this will happen amidst frequent quarrels in the home and life will continue in a state of constant tension and unhappiness. If this goes on for any extended period of time, the family will self-destruct and they will finally be forced to sell the property. Careful observation of the real estate market will reveal that a high percentage of number nine properties go on sale. Often times if the circumstances are known, it can be shown that the seller is in some form of distress.
Solution to the Mysteries of the Number Nine (9) Location
We tend to enjoy or suffer because of our actions or karmic deeds. However, within this karmic framework, we are still able to exercise our Free Will. Thus when we see that our life is not going as well as it should; when we see that event after event increases our misery and suffering, we come to realize that we have to do something. If we choose the wrong path, the result will be family breakups. If we choose the right path, we will find that by some strange coincidence, we will soon come into contact with a holy person or someone connected with a holy person. This is the signal that a new beginning is near. This is the message that the universe is offering you salvation from your sufferings. But many miss the cue and do not take up the offer to visit the holy person. In such cases, their suffering goes on and they are forced to wait for an extended period of time until the universe opens up another rescue operation for them again. This time their belief will be stronger and the holy person can begin the cleansing process for the family. Depending on the specific circumstances, this cleansing may take the form of:
Earth (Dharti Mata) Puja Planets (Nav Graha) Puja Ancestors (Pitri) Puja
Removal of spirits and negative energies from the home Cleansing (ayurvedic) bath for the homeowner
How Nine (9) affects the Individual
Although I chose to give an identity to the number nine (9) in the introductory paragraph above, in reality, the identity belongs to individuals who are born under the influence of the nine (9). How do we determine if someone is born under the influence of nine (9)? We simply add the day and month of birth together. For instance if your birthday is 8th of January (8 + 1 = 9) then you are governed by the influence of nine (9). Your Ishta Devta would be Lord Indra, the administrator God of the heavenly realm.
Characteristic Behaviour of Lord Indra
Lord Indra has the very important duty to manage the affairs of the heavens and he carries out this heavy responsibility with due care. But Lord Indra likes to indulge in soma drink and enjoys the singing and dancing of the ghandarvas (celestial damsels) to the extent that sometimes he is away from his management responsibilities for too long. He then becomes fearful and suspicious that others are trying to steal his throne. Thus in a panic, he will rush to Lord Vishnu for help. Indra can be very patient with those who need his care and support but he also demonstrates a fierce temper. Sometimes he tends to forget his place or status in relation to the status of his own Guru. On one occasion, Brihaspati (Guru) was late for court because he was propitiating Lord Shiva. Indra, with typical impatience went in search for Brishaspati. When Indra found him, he began to verbally chastise his Guru to such an extent that Lord Shiva became angry. Shiva opened his 3rd eye, wrapped Indra within a bond of cosmic energy and cast him to the bottom of the ocean. Brihaspati had to turn around and beg Lord Shiva for mercy to release him because Indra was his devotee. This verse in the Skanda Purana tells about the true power of a Guru and the ability that they possess to rescue their devotees:
"Shive krudde guru strata guru krudde Shive nahe"
This verse indicates that when Shiva is angry, the Guru can save us. But when the Guru is angry, even Shiva cannot save us.
Lord Indra represents much impatience and oftentimes, he becomes compulsive in exercising his Ego. So although we see Lord Indra as holding such a high position amongst the Gods, we also see that some aspects of his behaviour can be considered to be rajasic and tamasic. If you are an individual who is born under the influence of nine (9), it is easy to verify for yourself whether you possess most of the characteristics of Lord Indra. You will very likely find that aspects of your life include:holding positions of responsibility; impatience; enjoyment of good sport including wine, women and song; anxiety, ego, confusion; fear in making decisions; fear of consequences of your actions.However, as we have seen above, the significance of the nine (9) does not stop at the individual level because there is a universal relationship between the individual and the earth location (house lot number) that the individual occupies. If a person whose birth number is #7 (e.g. 2nd May. 2 + 5 = 7) lives in home that a is a #2 (e.g: # 83 Melrose Drive. 8 + 3 = 11. 1 + 1 = 2) then the sum total of the person number and the house number adds up to nine (9). In such a case the #7 person will experience negative influences if they follow the rajasic or tamasic path by indulgence in such vices alcohol, killing animals for food, drugs, family quarrels and other negative behaviour. Thus the location can play a very significant role in the quality of life that a family lives.
Exercise:
Step 1
Reduce your house number to a single digit. E.g: 402 Fairlawn Ave. 4 + 2 = 6
Step 2
Compute the birth date of each member in your family. E.g: 6th May. 6 + 5 = 11:1 + 1 = 2
Step 3
Add the birth number to the house number, and reduce to a single digit, e.g: 6 + 2 = 8
Step 4
Examine the behaviour of each member in the family and the degree of happiness or suffering that they are facing.
Step 5

CHAPTER 11
The Design of a HouseDESIGN
The Design - The design of the house should be as follows: On the eastern side of the house gymnasium, on the south-east side, granary; on the southern, the dining hall; on the south-west, the lying-in room; on the western, the bed chamber; on the northwest, the place of worship; on the northern, the treasury; and on the north-east, the kitchen.
All odd Thithis except Navami are good. Of the even Thithis, Dhwithiyai, Shashti and Dhasami are auspicious.
The day chosen for laying the foundation of a building must be governed by a fortunate Yoga (Siddha Yoga or Amritha Yoga).
Learned astrologers recommend Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday as auspicious for laying the foundation of a house. The other days are rejected.
Fixed signs are the best; Common signs occupied by benefics have middling influence; Movable signs, and Common signs without benefics in them should be avoided.
Oordhwa-Mukha Lagna, (a sign just vacated by the Sun) is auspicious. Atho-Mukha Lagna, (the sign occupied by the Sun) even when occupied by a benefic, should be avoided. Thiryagh-Mukha Lagna, (the sign next to the one occupied by the Sun) is good, if aspected by a benefic planet.
